Dick’s Sporting Goods Distribution Center, SMITHTON, PA
CLIENT OBJECTIVES
Dick’s Sporting Goods was seeking an ideal solution to maintain the cooling and heating system needs in their distribution center. Unpredictable weather conditions were putting a strain on their current mechanical system’s heating and cooling capabilities, and as a result, Dick’s was seeing an increase in absenteeism among the employees. The client's top priority was to have additional commercial HVAC systems installed that would offer a consistent, comfortable working environment for all employees that would cause minimal disruption to the productivity of the center.
VALUE DELIVERED
As one of the premier full-service provider of commercial HVAC services across the Pittsburgh metro and surrounding regions, EMCOR Services Scalise Industries was selected as the mechanical services contractor for Dick’s Sporting Goods warehouse facility in Smithton, PA.
SOLUTIONS
Scalise Industries was able to address the client’s concerns to its 600,000 square foot distribution center by installing environmentally friendly infrared heat around the perimeter at 198 dock doors coupled with high volume fans. The heaters will allow for a more consistent temperature in the warehouse when the doors are open in the winter months. A Direct Digital Control (DDC) system was installed to maintain control of mechanical systems. The equipment was effectively installed with little down time and now offers a controlled environment that is suitable to employees.
